On the official website of the event shows the entire program of the gym, it seems that you can participate in classes like "Charizard's battle Colosseum" or "Control Gardevoir's Score" for instruction on the skills and characteristics of Pokemon
Obviously with the participation there will be prizes and rewards, in fact there will be special gifts that can be redeemed on Nintendo 3DS: Pokémon X and Y, and Pokémon Ruby and Sapphire Omega Alpha.
